Veronica Nakafeero was born and raised in Uganda, where her love for travel and birding took root.
Discovering a Passion for Travel and Birding
Veronica Nakafeero’s journey into the world of birdwatching and ecotourism began after completing a tour and travel course. It was during this time that she realized true exploration lies in the field, rather than being confined to an office. Her desire to connect with nature led her to actively seek hands-on experiences in birding and wildlife conservation.
Inspired by Family and Nature
Inspired by her brother, Crammy Wanyama, a well-known birding expert, Veronica’s interest in avian life flourished. Her childhood encounters with nature further fueled her fascination with avian behavior. She soon engaged in nature walks and birding excursions to expand her expertise.
Building Expertise Through Training and Fieldwork
Eager to deepen her birding skills, Veronica Nakafeero actively participated in birding events and training programs organized by:

Through rigorous training with USAGA and mentorship from renowned birders like Crammy Wanyama and Herbert Byaruhanga, Veronica Nakafeero has developed into a highly skilled and knowledgeable bird guide. She now leads Avian Safaris' tours across Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania, offering travelers expert insights into the region’s diverse birdlife.
